Australian Wedding ... at Aussie World

6 April 2011

Set in beautiful native Australian gardens on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Aussie World is reminiscent of a traditional Australian fairground, providing a variety of rides, function venues and specialty stores perfect for a true blue, ididjeridoo, fair dinkum, Aussie wedding.

Quirky venue, The Ettamogah (Aboriginal for "place of good drink!") Pub was built in 1989 and is Now one of Queensland's leading tourist attractions.  It stands at an impressive 18m and is a must to visit due to its wonky shape and caricature appearance and most of the furniture inside the pub has been built from trees cleared from the site.  Bluey’s Bar and Grill is situated upstairs in the Ettamogah Pub and dishes up huge servings of fair dinkum Aussie tucker.

The Shed is located behind the Ettamogah Pub and is perfect for an Aussie bush themed soiree.   Think tables adorned with native Australian flora and camp fires to create a cosy outback atmosphere.  The Shed can cater for 600 people seated or 1100 cocktail – it’s a big shed!

FJ's Café is themed in true 50s and 60s rock ‘n roll style fashion and even houses a Juke Box!

The Fairground with 30 rides and attractions can be hired exclusively at night as a unique and memorable experience guaranteed to impress.  The exclusive use of the Fairground encompasses ‘all the fun of the fair' from days gone by including the second largest Ferris Wheel in the southern hemisphere, Stockshed Speedway Dodgems, rollercoasters and much much more.  Think of the photo ops!

Shadan of ididjeridoo

Shadan is the Aussie girl who married a Kiwi boy, and discovered first hand the lack of help available for UK-based Antipodeans returning "home" to marry.
